Since 2003, UNODC ROCA's Coordination and Analysis Unit (CAU) has developed itself into a centre of excellence for data management and analysis, acquiring the best in geographic information system (GIS) and database software. CAU has served as a warehouse for drug and crime related data in Central Asia, easily available to the international community via its websites and through regularly published reports.
During the last 3 years, CAU has worked to build a variety of geographic information systems in Central Asia.
Our certified experts have provided ArcGIS trainings in all Central Asia countries. More than 100 alumni have graduated from these trainings, and are now using our set of geo-databases as their primary resource when designing thematic maps. This Geo Database was created in 2008 and has been constantly developed during the last two years.
