Support
The Coordination and Analysis Unit (CAU) is becoming an ArcGIS resource and related support centre for the Central Asian region. CAU regularly provides its counterparts with technical support and assistance in producing thematic maps based on their data.
Trainings
Since 2008, CAU has organized around twenty specialized ArcGIS trainings for both the staff of Law Enforcement Agencies in Central Asia and the National Strategic Analysts of UNODC projects in Afghanistan, Iran, Pakistan, and Russia. These trainings have strengthened the capacities of analysis units in Central Asian Law Enforcement Agencies, while promoting the use of modern Geo-information tools in their reports.
We offer following ArcGIS trainings:
- (i) Introduction to ArcGIS I;
- (ii) Introduction to ArcGIS II; and
- (iii) ArcGIS Geo-database.
Our ESRI certified and highly qualified trainers can provide these courses in English, Russian or Uzbek. For further information, please see the training agenda.
Free GIS data
You may use our repository to download shape files of the Central Asian region. This free GIS repository includes the region's populated places with their GPS coordinates, categorized roads, rivers, regional and district administrative boundaries and much more.
In this website, we provide ithematic maps describing Drug Trends in the Central Asian region and neighbouring countries.
We offer our expertise and assistance to our counterparts in designing their own thematic maps, in preparing data for use with ArcGIS software, and other related tasks.
